Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
Taking into account the extraordinary circumstances we are facing due to the COVID-19 situation and in light of different, gradual de-confinement measures adopted by each EU Member State, we are holding the 10-11 June EESC Plenary Session in a hybrid form. The voting and debates will take place both physically at our premises and virtually (by videoconference) thanks to top-of-the-line IT tools.
We have prepared two thought-provoking events:
- On Wednesday, June 10, we will have a debate with Michel Barnier, Head of the Task Force for the preparation and conduct of negotiations on future relations with the United Kingdom;
- On Thursday, June 11, Elisa Ferreira, European Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms, will guide us through the EC's plans to ensure full and effective use of EU funds.
As EESC President, I express my heartfelt solidarity with all people affected by this epidemic as well as my support and gratitude to those who are on the frontline to defend the health of citizens and residents of Europe.
