Future of Europe - Austrian Social Partners' Positions

16/09/2016

The Austrian social partners have always actively promoted Austria's integration into the EU and they have repeatedly stressed their commitment to European integration. From an economic and social point of view, comprehensive participation on an equal footing by Austria in the process of uniting Europe makes sense, and it is a key element of the way Austria sees itself in political terms.

The Austrian social partners subscribe to European values and culture, including solidarity and the social market economy, a sustainable and qualitatively growing economy combined with a policy of safeguarding jobs and social cohesion and comprehensive quality of life for the population. The common objective of the social partners is good economic performance, more and better jobs, a high level of social protection and a high level of education and training.
