The International Association of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (AICESIS) Board meeting took place in Seoul. The EESC was represented by president Staffan Nilsson. The Korean Prime Minister welcomed the AICESIS Board along with representatives from Federation of Korean Trade Unions and Korea Employers Federation.
At its plenary session of 14 and 15 November 2012 (meeting of 15 November), the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC) adopted this resolution, stating that, in light of the ongoing crises, the EU must restore trust in a dynamic growth model and in the legitimacy of its decision-making process. President Staffan Nilsson participated on 8-9 November 2012 in the annual meeting of the Presidents and Secretary Generals of national ESCs and the EESC in Dublin. Representatives from 16 EU countries and the EESC gathered to debate on the labour market and welfare/benefits reforms.
Today, Greece is at breaking point. Greek citizens have suffered an unprecedented decline in income. Additional sacrifices are not possible. This difficulty is intensified because there is no clear prospect of exit from the crisis.
Les partenaires sociaux autrichiens n'ont cessé de contribuer activement à l'intégration de l'Autriche dans l'UE et ont manifesté à plusieurs reprises leur engagement en faveur de l'intégration européenne. Sur le plan économique et social, il est utile que l'Autriche participe pleinement et sur un pied d'égalité à la construction européenne, ce qui constitue un élément essentiel de son identité politique.

Cette 10 e réunion du Comité de pilotage Europe 2020 se tiendra en présence des représentants des Conseils économiques et sociaux / organisations assimilées des états membres.
Ce sera une excellente occasion de discuter leurs récentes contributions sur la participation des partenaires sociaux et société civile dans le cadre du Semestre européen 2012.
